Fine Art Asia 2017
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

 

The Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBS, JP, Chief Executive, attended the opening of Fine Art Asia 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, accompanied by fair directors Andy Hei (right) and Calvin Hui (left).

On Friday, 29 September, Fine Art Asia 2017, Asia’s leading international art fair, was deeply honoured that The Honourable Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBS, JP, Chief Executive, Hong Kong SARGovernment, graced the opening of the fair with her presence.

Fine Art Asia2017showcases museum-quality works of art spanning 5,000 years of cultural history, from antiquity to the present day. On display are Asian and Western antiques; jewellery, antique silver and timepieces; Impressionist, modern and contemporary art and design; and photography.

Mrs Lam visited the booths of several leading galleries on a short guided tour of the fair. At the booth of Jorge Welsh Works of Art, London and Lisbon, she commented, “These export porcelains verify the concept of the ‘one belt one road’ initiative, and are evidence of the 100 years of cultural exchange along the silk sea route.”Mrs Lam also visited a special exhibition of Himalayan ornaments from the Mengdiexuan Collection of Betty Lo and said, “It is very rare to see Mongolian gold pieces, making this a very special experience.”

Mrs Lam has most kindly officiated at the opening of Fine Art Asia 2017 for the past 5 years.

Fine Art Asia 2017 is open to the public from Saturday, 30 September – Tuesday, 3 October, at Hall 3C, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Art and Antique International Fair Ltd (AAIF) is the pioneer of art fairs in Hong Kong.
